The acting governor of Adamawa state, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has accused the Murtala Nyako administration of leaving behind a debt of about N12.8 billion, even as he said the past administration did not put on ground any infrastructure to show for the expenditure.
Fintiri said this when he received former members of the Adamawa state House of Assembly led by Ambassador James Barka, who were in Yola Government House to congratulatory him on his ascension to the throne as acting chief executive of the state.
“I assure you that justice, equity and fair-play will be my focus, and I will treat people equally irrespective of tribe or religion”, he assured, just as he explained that the Assembly sacked Nyako administration to save Adamawa state from the precipice.
“With the support I’m getting from the people of Adamawa state as well as the People’s Democratic Party, in Adamawa and the federal government, with God on my side, within the 90 days transitional period, citizens will feel the impact of government more than in the last seven years”, he assured.
Leader of the delegation, Ambassador Barka, had earlier said that they were on the visit to congratulate him and also express gratitude to him for freeing Adamawa people from Nyako’s misrule.
