Anambra guber: Resorting to cheap blackmail can’t save you — Ukachukwu tells Soludo 

*Denies owing anybody N1B

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra state, Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu has accused Governor Charles Soludo of being behind an incident where some men openly accused him of owing them N1 billion Naira over a land deal.

The Ukachukwu Campaign Council in a statement on Monday, said it was unfortunate that instead of telling the people of Anambra what he has been able to achieve in the past three years, Governor Soludo is hiring people to openly discredit his opponents.

The Council further questioned when it has become normal for people who claimed they were owed a whooping N1 billion Naira to ambush their so-called debtors on the street with cameras stationed for recording, instead of going to court to prove to seek redress.

“When you see a staged video, you will know. The recent video alleging that Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Ikukuoma, was attacked by people he supposedly owed ₦1 billion is nothing but a clumsy piece of political theatre; sponsored, staged and distributed by Governor Charles Soludo and his APGA media thugs.

“Let us start with the facts. If this were to be a genuine debt matter, would the “creditors” not approach a court, a lawyer, or law enforcement? Since when did the roadside become the new debt recovery tribunal? Is N1b the kind of money you bring out from your back pocket?

“More importantly, why would men who claim they want to recover ₦1 billion storm the street with cameramen instead of security operatives? The answer is simple: it was never about debt. It was about propaganda. It’s about mud slinging and character assassination but Ikukuoma is above board in all ramifications.

“And here is the smoking gun: the very first release of the video and its accompanying write-ups came from Soludo’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Adichie, and members of his media crew. Before anyone else even saw it, they had the full package ready. Everyone else only copied it from his wall. From insider information, they went as far as hiring the street actors who carried out this dirty job. If they did not sponsor the drama, how come they had the video firsthand before it appeared anywhere else? Ndi Anambra, the handwriting is clear”.

The statement equally accused the Soludo of degenerating into blackmail and media thuggery, instead of campaigning with his achievements as an incumbent.
