The management of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, has imposed an immediate ban on all forms of celebration on campus, citing rising security concerns and the need to maintain order within the institution.
The directive, issued on Thursday, was conveyed through the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor S. A. Adegoke, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Usman Ogbo.
According to the statement, the decision affects all celebratory activities, including Final Year Brethren celebrations, cultural association festivities, departmental and faculty sign-out events, awareness gatherings, and any other related social events.
The university authorities said the move had become necessary to prevent breakdown of law and order, warning that the campus environment must remain safe for academic activities to thrive without disruption.
Management stressed that the ban takes immediate effect and will remain in place until further notice, adding that security personnel have been directed to ensure strict enforcement across the campus.
Students were cautioned to comply fully with the directive, as any violation would attract disciplinary measures, without exception.
While expressing regret over the inconvenience, the university appealed for understanding, insisting the decision was taken in the interest of safety, peace, and stability within the academic community.
