The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially welcomed prominent political figures, including former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra governor Peter Obi, and former interior minister Rauf Aregbesola, into its fold.
The announcement was made on Monday at the press conference by the Member of the BOT Chairman,Hon. Ado Dauda,alongside members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and State Chairmen Forum.
He said the ADC was proud that respected leaders saw the party as a credible platform for coalition-building and democratic renewal.
However, the party urged all new entrants to strictly follow due process before assuming any role in the coalition. This includes formal resignation from previous political parties and registration as bona fide members of the ADC at their respective ward levels.

Dauda warned that failure to comply could invite legal challenges and undermine the coalition’s credibility.
He reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and the rule of law, pledging to steer the party toward a National Convention within 90 days.
The party also vowed to resist any unconstitutional attempts to impose parallel leadership, dismissing as fraudulent a purported resignation letter attributed to Bala and reaffirming his position in line with Article 14.3 of the ADC Constitution.
The Board of Trustees and State Chairmen expressed gratitude to outgoing National Chairman, Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, for his leadership, while calling for unity and calm among members.
According to him, “The party will seek the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) formal endorsement of his acting chairmanship, noting that INEC’s current records still recognise the pre-July NEC.
“We remains a progressive platform dedicated to good governance, national transformation, and inclusive political partnerships”,he said .
