The All Progressives Congress (APC) has achieved a significant victory in the recent by-elections held in Kaduna State, winning all three contested seats.
The party’s candidates—Hon. Fidelix Bagudu, Hon. Isa Haruna Muhammed, and Hon. Dahiru Umar-Sani—were declared the winners in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Zaria Kewaye State Constituency, and Basawa State Constituency, respectively.
In response, the Kaduna State chapter of the APC attributed these victories to the people’s trust in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive leadership.
The party’s state secretary, Yahaya Baba Pate, congratulated the victorious candidates and emphasized their commitment to honoring the people’s trust through diligent representation.
Pate also highlighted Governor Sani’s accomplishments in enhancing security, improving rural infrastructure, and developing human capital, all of which he believes contributed to the party’s success.
The APC has urged citizens to continue their support and prayers as the party works towards building a more equitable and secure society. With these wins, the APC has further solidified its dominance in Kaduna politics, particularly in the Zaria zone.
In the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, APC candidate Fidelix Bagudu secured 34,580 votes, defeating his closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 11,491 votes.
This victory marks the first time the APC has won in both Chikun and Kajuru local government areas since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999.
Similarly, in the Zaria Kewaye State Constituency, Isa Haruna Ihamo of the APC won with 26,613 votes, while Nuhu Sada Abdullahi from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) received 5,721 votes, and PDP’s Mamuda Abdullahi Wappa earned 5,331 votes.
Equally, in the Basawa State Constituency, APC’s Dahiru Umar-Sani received 10,926 votes, defeating the PDP candidate, who scored 5,499 votes.
