The Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) has designed a program for young, prospective entrepreneurs to learn skills as a way of improving their livelihoods.
National Publicity Secretary of the Association, Gaddafi Asemanya Jnr disclosed this to Journalists in Makurdi at the National Convention of Makurdi Old Boys Association (MOBA).
Asemanya an alumna of Government College Makurdi, GCM who was honored during the event for his outstanding contribution to the society, said NASME is providing opportunity for youths to showcase their talents through entrepreneurship.
He said recently NASME President Dr. Yarima Abdulrashid distributed Salon materials, vulcanizers and tailoring materials to youths in Benue State, adding that the Association plans to extend loan scheme to poor indigent students to better their lives.
He said: “Government College is a premier as well an exchange program school having children coming from the 19 Northern States to study here. So, we want to encourage them to acquire knowledge and skills that will help them in future. We distributed wielding materials and equipment to the school and Benue State University, BSU Technical College.
“This is aimed at encouraging the students to acquire skills while in school and in future, they will be self reliant and also, employers of labor.
“The honor done to me will spur to heights. I will remain focus and committed to serving humanity”.
