The Yobe State Government, with support from the International Displacement Support Fund (IDSF), has concluded a two-day Strategic Onboarding Workshop for Technical Focal Points (TFPs), aimed at enhancing coordination, data management, and resource mobilization for the implementation of the State Action Plan (SAP) on durable solutions.
The workshop, held in Kano, brought together technical focal points to build their capacity in driving sustainable reintegration, resilience, and recovery programmes for displaced persons and host communities in Yobe State.
Day Two featured sessions on coordination, leadership, resource mobilization, and strategic partnerships, with facilitators stressing the importance of institutional capacity, data quality assurance, and the integration of humanitarian and development data systems.
Participants also deliberated on the SAP implementation dashboard, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, donor communication, and the production of visibility materials to build stakeholder confidence.
Key presentations focused on resource mobilization and donor engagement, outlining strategies to align Yobe’s SAP with broader national and regional frameworks.
Other sessions highlighted operational delivery and accessibility, underscoring the need for displaced persons’ active involvement in programme design and implementation, as well as the use of effective communication strategies to reach both displaced and host communities.
In his closing remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Mohammed Goje, commended participants and facilitators for their dedication.
He emphasized that durable solutions can only be achieved through coordinated action, transparent data sharing, and strong partnerships.
Dr. Goje also expressed gratitude to development partners for their continued support to Yobe’s recovery and reintegration agenda.
