Man docked for stealing

The police have arraigned a man, Shaibu Ahmadu in Wuse Zone two Senior Magistrates’ court Abuja, for allegedly stealing two building items valued at N18, 000.

The prosecutor, Cpl Sani Yusuf, told the court that Mrs. Philomena Enyi of Wuse 2, Abuja, reported the matter at the Mabushi Police Station, Abuja, on June 14.

He said that Ahmadu, who resides at Dumping Mabushi area of Abuja, broke into the complainant’s store and stole the wheelbarrows and the head pans two months ago.

Yusuf said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 288 of the Penal Code.

However, Ahmadu pleaded not guilty to the charge.

After taking the plea, the prosecutor prayed the court to grant him a date to open his case against the accused person.

The Magistrate, Mrs Grace Adebayo, then granted bail to the accused person in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties in like sum.

Adebayo ordered that the sureties must be living within the court’s jurisdiction and adjourned the matter until August 19 for continuation of hearing. (NAN)
