Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Enugu State have reaffirmed that Chief Ugochukwu Agbala is not the chairman of the party in the state.

The stakeholders made the declaration at a meeting in Enugu, where they also resolved to probe the educational certificates presented by Chief Uchenna Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology.

A communique issued after the meeting stressed that Agbala has been removed by the order of court of competent jurisdiction.

Those that signed the communique include a former Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Barrister Eugene Odoh, (Enugu North), immediate past state chairman of the party, Dr. Ben Nwoye (Enugu East), Dr. El Ajah (Enugu West) and Dr. Alphonsus Nwafor, Acting State Chairman.

“Chief Ugochukwu Agbala is not the Chairman of APC Enugu State,” the communique said, adding that the stakeholders have decided to notify the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, that Agbala should no longer be allowed to participate in meetings of the National Executive Committee, NEC.

The stakeholders resolved to set up a committee to liaise with the authorities of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, to investigate the authenticity of graduation and National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, certificates presented by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji.

Controversy has trailed the minister’s certificates since he assumed office in the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.

“The APC Enugu State stakeholders will set up a committee to write to the University of Nigeria Vice Chancellor and make further inquiries about the authenticity of the graduation certificate and NYSC certificate being paraded by Chief Nnaji,” the communique said.

The stakeholders insisted that it is high time Nnaji clears himself of the certificate saga, which has been raging on for quite a long time

In the same vein, the Enugu APC stakeholders applauded what they described as the transformative leadership of President Bola Tinubu, and endorsed him for a second tenure come 2027.

They equally expressed readiness to welcome the state governor, Peter Mbah, into the APC “so that Enugu State can take her place in the national politics”.

The stakeholders came hard on the opposition ADC coalition, describing it as an “embodiment of serial election losers that have no policy direction for the advancement of Nigeria.”
