The North Central Zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has thrown its weight behind Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo in his bid for a fresh four-year term as President.

The endorsement was announced at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday by state chairmen from Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Damina Solomon John, Chairman of the Nasarawa State Chapter, said the decision was driven by the need for continuity and consolidation of Sukubo’s “remarkable achievements” in youth development and national cohesion.

The youth leaders said they were confident in Sukubo’s capacity to deliver transformative change and to effectively represent young Nigerians on the national stage.

They pointed to his track record of impactful initiatives, which they said had directly improved the lives of youth across the country.

“We are delighted to declare our collective resolve to support and endorse Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo for re-election as President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria,” the group declared.

They praised his “passion, energy, and commitment,” adding that under his leadership, the NYCN had become more inclusive and responsive to the needs of young people.

The chairmen highlighted key achievements under his tenure, including youth empowerment through education, skills and entrepreneurship, promoting participation in governance, fostering partnerships, and even financing initiatives from his own resources.

In a show of solidarity, they also called on the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and state governments in the zone to back Sukubo’s re-election.

“For someone who has sincerely and selflessly shown this level of commitment and deep love for Nigerian youth, it is only fitting and proper that we support and re-elect him to consolidate and sustain his laudable achievements,” the statement read.
