The Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Wednesday presided over the swearing-in of the state’s new Grand Kadi, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries, and a member of the Universal Basic Education Board, describing the event as the beginning of a new chapter in the state’s governance.
In his address, Governor Buni expressed confidence in the capacity of the new appointees, noting that their expertise and experience would enhance quality service delivery to the people of Yobe State.
Those sworn in include Abba Al-Hajj Al-Mahmadi as the new Grand Kadi, alongside five Special Advisers: Muhammad Bazam Maidoki, Muhammad Ibrahim Jalloh, Hajiya Saratu Sabo, Saleh Budde Shariff, and Kulloma Umara Muhammad.
Governor Buni highlighted Alhaji Mahmadi’s 29 years of meritorious service in the judiciary as the basis for his elevation.
He also described the Special Advisers as seasoned politicians with strong grassroots connections who would strengthen government–people relations.
Also sworn in was Alhaji Dauda Yahaya, appointed as a Permanent Member of the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board. Governor Buni described him as a technocrat and former Head of Service whose wealth of experience would drive improvements in foundational education.
Meanwhile, the 13 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries—including Abdu Shaibu and Maidala Valeri Bularafa—Governor Buni said they were chosen based on merit, commitment, and loyalty.
He urged them to uphold due process, be proactive, and bring in fresh ideas to improve service delivery.
