Governor Uba Sani has made significant investments in peace-building through initiatives such as the Kaduna State Peace Commission, which focuses on mediating conflicts and establishing sustainable frameworks for reconciliation across communities.
Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe reiterated this point on Wednesday, stating that “these interventions, along with grassroots engagement, have fostered trust and paved the way for a more secure and hopeful future.”
Dr. Balarabe made these comments during a courtesy visit from a delegation of the Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA), led by Country Coordinator Mr. Jude Likita at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
She commended JISRA for its efforts in promoting peace, interfaith dialogue, and freedom of religion both in Nigeria and globally, emphasizing that its activities “align perfectly with our vision of a peaceful, just, and prosperous Kaduna, where every citizen feels protected, valued, and included.”
“Your programs have advanced justice, inclusion, and respect for human dignity, contributing to the development of societies where differences serve as a source of strength for unity,” she added.
The Deputy Governor further described JISRA as a true partner in the journey of peace-building, acknowledging its efforts to bridge divides, empower women and youth, and foster interfaith cooperation.
According to her, JISRA’s activities “complement our own programs, and we are committed to continuing our support and collaboration.”
Dr. Balarabe asserted, “Together, we can consolidate the progress already achieved and ensure that peace, justice, and inclusion become permanent features of our state.”
“Under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, our administration remains firmly dedicated to promoting justice, protecting the rights of all citizens, and fostering inclusion as the foundation for peace and stability.
“These values are already yielding results, reflected in the relative calm, progress, and renewed confidence that our state is currently experiencing,” she noted.
Dr. Balarabe assured that the Uba Sani administration will continue to “recognize and respect the importance of citizens’ voices, the contributions of faith leaders, and the diversity of thoughts and groups in our state.”
