World Tourism Day: Kaduna Poly call for transformation

The Department of Tourism Management and Technology at Kaduna Polytechnic yesterday marked World Tourism Day 2025, with the theme; “Tourism for Sustainable Transformation.”
The event brought together stakeholders from the tourism industry, academia, and government to discuss the crucial role of tourism in driving economic growth, preserving culture, and ensuring environmental stewardship.
The discussions emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism practices in promoting economic growth and cultural preservation while also protecting the environment.
Dr. Suleiman Umar, the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, underscored the need for innovation and technology in advancing sustainable tourism. He pointed out that tools such as virtual tours and digital marketing can be instrumental in promoting heritage sites.
The event also highlighted the necessity of collaboration and partnerships among academia, industry, and government to effectively promote sustainable tourism practices.
