Prince Ayodele Arokoyo, an expert in Tourism Development and an awardee by the Tourism Management Technology (TMT) department of Kaduna Polytechnic, has emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism development in Nigeria.
Speaking at a press briefing to review this year’s World Tourism Day celebration, Prince Arokoyo expressed gratitude to the institution for recognizing his contributions to the industry.
Prince Arokoyo highlighted the potential of tourism as a significant source of revenue for the country, citing examples of countries that rely heavily on tourism for development.
He urged youths, particularly students, to explore entrepreneurship opportunities in the tourism industry, rather than solely seeking employment after graduation.
Prince Arokoyo emphasized the need for the government to spell out the benefits of tourism to local communities, ensuring that they are not left out of the economic benefits.
