In a significant move to boost industrial development, Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has completed the reconstruction and modernization of the Polythene and Woven Sack Industry in Dikumari village, Damaturu.
Governor also approved the purchase and installation of brand-new modern equipment, constructed additional facilities, and upgraded existing structures to international standards, effectively reviving the company for greater productivity.
This initiative is a key part of Governor Buni’s broader vision to drive sustainable development, expand the state’s revenue base, create thousands of jobs, and position Yobe as a hub for agro-allied industries.
The factory is not an isolated project since assuming office, Governor Buni has pursued a robust economic recovery plan focused on reviving moribund industries and building new commercial infrastructure.
He said his administration has successfully revived the Potiskum Maize Processing Plant and the Potiskum Aluminium Company.
Furthermore, modern sesame processing factories have been established in Machina, Nguru, Potiskum, and Damaturu to add value to local agricultural produce.
Complementing these industrial efforts is a massive investment in commerce. The Buni administration has constructed seven ultra-modern markets across the state in Damaturu, Geidam, Yunusari, Potiskum, Ngalda, Gashua, and Nguru.
Currently, the government is constructing a large City Mall Center in Damaturu, designed to serve as a modern commercial hub and further stimulate economic activity.
