Yari blames insecurity on social vices

From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

Governor AbdulAzeez Yari Abubakar, of Zamfara state, has attributed the formidable security challenges bedeviling the country as a result of wickedness that some of the populace are devoted to.

Yari, who was in Maradun emirate on his Sallah tour across the seventeen emirates of the state, said the incessant killings and ungodly manners of some people across the country had attracted the angry face of God.

The governor reiterated the need for the people to completely return to God for repentance over nasty deeds and change for good, without taking time before blessing and prosperity comes back to the society, saying “We must first of all forgive ourselves, followed by checking our obligations and observe total submission to God”.

Yari was responding to a recent attack launched by gunmen on Gidan Dawa community under Maradun local government, which led to the killing of seven people and scores injured, assuring the emirate that security operatives have since swung into action, to fish out the perpetrators for justice.

Earlier, the emir of Maradun, Alhaji Garba Muhammad has commended the state government efforts in fighting high profiled criminals to the barest level, through adequate assistance to the security agencies operating across the state.
