The Kaduna State Government has once again been recognized as Nigeria’s most transparent and accountable state, topping the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index (TII) released by the Center for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI), with support from the MacArthur Foundation.
This achievement marks the second consecutive year that Kaduna has claimed the No. 1 position, reinforcing its reputation for openness, accountability, and institutional integrity.
According to the report, Kaduna scored 49.08%, securing first place nationally, ahead of Kano with 46.86% and Osun with 45.97%. The state also achieved the highest score in the Control of Corruption category, with an impressive 80%, reflecting its strong anti-corruption mechanisms and commitment to ethical governance.
he TII evaluated all 36 states across five core areas: Fiscal Transparency, Open Procurement, Human Resources, Control of Corruption, and Citizens’ Engagement.
Kaduna’s exceptional performance in these areas highlights the impact of the reform-driven leadership of Governor Uba Sani, whose administration continues to build on the solid governance foundations established in the state.
On his part, governor Uba Sani responded to the news by stating, “Our administration has prioritized transparency and accountability as the foundation for sustainable development. This recognition from the Center for Fiscal Transparency reaffirms that Kaduna is not only performing well, but we are also doing so with integrity. We will continue to deepen reforms, strengthen citizen engagement, and ensure that every Kobo is accounted for.”
