N-HYPPADEC reaffirms commitment to improve community welfare

The Managing Director of the National Hydro-electric Power Producing Areas Commission N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Yelwa, has reaffirmed the commission’s determination to remain committed to improving the welfare of people living in hydroelectric power-producing areas in the country.
Yelwa made this known during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of 850 units of 13HP Hand-Driven Power Tillers.
He said Niger state got 165 units, life jackets, and relief materials including cash donation of N10 million.
He explained that the items distributed are part of the commission’s mandate to support communities affected by dam operations, especially in agriculture, economic development, and infrastructure.
Yelwa acknowledged that limited funds are mitigating some interventions.
