The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced plans to host the inaugural Digital Economy Awareness and Sensitization Forum as part of efforts to deepen digital inclusion and strengthen innovation across the country.
The event, themed “Leaving No One Behind: Digital Assets, Equity, and Empowerment,” is scheduled for November 13, 2025, and will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and development partners to explore strategies for bridging Nigeria’s digital divide.
According to the NCC, the forum aims to create a policy and innovation platform for building inclusive digital infrastructure and promoting equitable access to opportunities in the emerging knowledge economy.
Sessions will focus on inclusive policy design, affordable internet access, digital literacy, and infrastructure deployment, particularly in underserved communities.
Highlighting Africa’s youthful population, 60 percent of whom are under 25, the Commission noted that Nigeria’s demographic advantage must be leveraged to drive innovation and economic empowerment.
“This initiative underscores our commitment to ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind in the digital transformation journey,” the NCC said in a statement.
The awareness forum is being organised in collaboration with several public and private partners, including the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), National Orientation Agency (NOA), FintechNGR, KOICA, and the Association of Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ATCON), among others.
Participants will engage in panel discussions, innovation exhibitions, and interactive sessions showcasing emerging technologies from startups, fintech firms, and students.
The Commission added that the event will be livestreamed via scf.ncc.gov.ng to enable broad national participation.
