The Chairman of the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee, Hon. Bamidele Salam, has emphasized that Africa’s future hinges on the values, vision, and leadership principles instilled in its children today.
Speaking ahead of the 2025 National Children’s Leadership Conference (NCLC), organized by the Children of Africa Leadership and Values Development Initiative (CALDEV), Salam described the initiative as a beacon of hope for nurturing a new generation of responsible and innovative young Africans.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, Salam announced that the 2025 edition of the NCLC will hold from Monday, November 17 to Friday, November 21, 2025, in the Federal Capital Territory.
Represented by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Dr. Chibuzo Okereke, Salam disclosed that top dignitaries expected at the event include Vice President Kashim Shettima, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, among others.
With the theme, “The Role of Children in Nation Building: Digitally Smart, Socially Responsible,” the conference aims to equip young Africans with digital literacy, leadership skills, and social responsibility. Over 400 participants aged 13 to 19 from across Africa are expected to attend.
