Oxfam, partners train 50 WDSC members on community development plans in Adamawa

European Union (EU), in partnership with German Cooperation and the federal government have organized a two day advocacy capacity building training of fifty (50) members of ward development support committee (WDSC) in Guyuk local council area of Adamawa state.
The program is being implemented by Oxfam,Crudan, Community Development & Reproductive Health Initiative, Nigeria (CODERHI), and Yaharakari Foundation in which WDSC members are playing the role of community representatives on a mission to promote social and economic growth of their communities.
In his welcome remarks at the training on Monday in Guyuk local government area, Samuel Lashon project Coordinator, Oxfam Nigeria explained that the training is aimed at promotion of monitoring community development plans and lobbying for its implementation as well as reporting ithe results and progress to the ward residents.
Lashon said that the WDSC members were trained on community leadership and effective leadership style for running community action groups with a view to strengthen the members ability to report and document their activities.
