The Kaduna State Police Command has achieved a significant milestone in the fight against child trafficking, after successfully rescuing 17 children and arresting three suspected traffickers.
This operation took place on November 12, 2025, around 4 PM, following credible intelligence regarding suspicious movement of children near the Danmagaji Flyover in Zaria.
The rescued children, who are of various ages, were allegedly being prepared for trafficking to Abuja and other regions of the country.
The suspects—Musa Shuaibu (21), Sani Mamman (23), and Mubarak Ismail (20)—confessed to transporting the children from different locations with the intention of taking them to Abuja and beyond.
The rescued children are currently under the care and protection of the police, and efforts are underway to locate and reunite them with their parents or guardians.
Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the operatives of the Danmagaji Division for their prompt action, emphasizing the Command’s zero tolerance policy towards child trafficking and exploitation.
Muhammad also urged parents to be cautious and not fall victim to syndicates that promise a better life for their children in cities. The suspects will undergo a thorough investigation and prosecution once the investigation is completed.
