Senator, Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North senatorial district had reportedly died in the United Kingdom where he was receiving medical treatment.
His death was confirmed by on-air media personality Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who wrote on social media: “Senator Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North, is dead… Rest in Peace.”

Although the exact cause of death has not been made public, sources say the senator had undergone treatment in Germany before being moved to the UK, where he eventually passed on.

Born on August 11, 1963, Ezea was a lawyer, businessman, and politician. Until his death, he was a member of the Labour Party and the only serving LP senator from Enugu State. He was elected into the Senate in 2023.
