NARC assures commitment to deepen research to combat security challenges

The Director General , Nigerian Army Resource Center, NARC, Major General James Myam(Rtd) has assured commitment to deepening its research portfolios to proffer solution to national security challenges.

The DG gave this assurance in a press briefing which is part of activities to mark the 10th year anniversary NARC themed: “Harnessing Knowledge For National Security”in Abuja.

He added that NARC will also leverage on academic networking opportunities and expanding the reach of the center.

He emphasized that the center will continue to forge strategic partnerships worldwide to enhance research, development and capacity building initiatives.

Major General Myam(Rtd) explained the NARC in supporting evidence – based policy formulation for the Nigerian military as well as the nation will continue to grow .

According to him, the center has conducted extensive research and published authoritative works on various security and defense issues, including terrorism, insurgency, and ethnic tensions.

He stated that the center has organized numerous conferences, roundtable discussions, and symposia to enrich national security policy formulation.

He added that the Human capital development courses include Strategic Management and Policy Studies, Leadership and Strategic Studies, and various leadership skills development courses for Nigerian Army personnel.

The center has established partnerships with internationally recognized institutions like the Peace Building Development Consult, the Godney Leadership Center, and the Nigerian Defense Academy.

Speaking on the challenges, he said this include the dynamic nature of security threats, budgetary constraints, and the need for enhanced partnerships with national and international institutions.
