Reps demand Military onslaught after bandits kill Immigration, Customs, Police officers in Kebbi

The House of Representatives on Wednesday issued an urgent call for joint military clearance operations in Kebbi State following the killing of three Nigeria Immigration Service personnel at Bakin Ruwa, Bagudo Local Government Area.
Sponsor of the motion, Hon. Bello A. Ka’oje, raised alarm over rising bandit activities in Bagudo and neighbouring Suru L.G.A., noting that the attackers — identified as Lakurawa bandits — have repeatedly targeted security formations.
The House observed that the 27th November assault on the immigration post mirrors earlier attacks, including the killing of a Customs officer at Maje on 10th November and a police officer at the same location on 19th October.
Lawmakers warned that the bandits are attempting to establish operational camps in Soda Forest, Bagudo, and the hills of Suru L.G.A., posing a growing threat to Kebbi’s previously peaceful status.
They urged the Nigerian Air Force, Army, Police and other security agencies to launch immediate clearance operations to dismantle the terrorists’ camps and restore security.
The House also called on the DSS and National Intelligence Agency to strengthen cross-border surveillance along the Nigeria–Benin Republic boundary.
A minute silence was observed for the slain security personnel, while lawmakers commended the Federal and State Governments, security forces and local vigilantes for securing the release of 24 abducted schoolgirls from Danko-Wasagu.
The Federal Government was urged to compensate the families of fallen officers, while relevant House committees were mandated to monitor implementation of the resolutions.
