Insecurity: Gombe govt to involve vigilante, hunters to combat crime

Gombe State government said there is need to involve vigilante and hunters to combat crime in the state.

Governor Mohammed Inuwa Yahya who made this known  in Gombe during Security Executive Council meeting.

Briefing journalists shortly after the meeting,  the Emir of Yamaltu Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu stated that involvement of Vigilante and Hunters is necessary to carryout operations with the Police to ensure that insecurity in the state is maintained.

According to him, collaboration with these security outfits will help in fight against criminals.

The State  Commissioner of Police Mr. Umar Ahmed Chuso emphasized that the Police is working tirelessly to see that insecurity in the state will no longer have a place to hide.

He said the Police swung into action to fish out  the perpetrators who shot two people and abducted others in Pininfarina community in Akko local government area of Gombe State.

He said once the operation is over, those involved in the act will fully face the waft of the law.

Also speaking, Attorney – General and  Commissioner for Justice Gombe state, Barr. Zubairu Mohammed Umar explained that henceforth, people operating in scrap businesses  popularly known as Bola-jari should deciet from the business as Gombe State government have ban its operations within Gombe metropitan and its environs, citing that people involved in such business should report themselves to GOSTEC for proper documentation to enable them operate without hindrance.
