Former Minister of Transportation, Engr. Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.

Sambo, who also served as Minister of State for Works and Housing under the Buhari administration and as Taraba State Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in 2023, made the declaration in Jalingo on Tuesday while speaking with journalists.

The APC chieftain and former governorship aspirant in Taraba State said he was confident in the direction of the Tinubu-led administration, noting that its economic reforms would ultimately improve the living standards of Nigerians.

He acknowledged the current economic difficulties but described them as the necessary consequences of long-overdue reforms.

Sambo said he remained optimistic about the country’s economic prospects, adding that the benefits of the reforms would become more evident over time.

“We are not oblivious to the feedback from the common man and the general increase in the cost of living. However, we believe that the sacrifices being made today are necessary for enduring economic and financial stability.

“Let us allow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consolidate the path of economic recovery and growth with a second term in office.

“Nigerians can rest assured that things will get better. I firmly believe that the reforms, coupled with other interventions, including increased spending on infrastructure projects, will ultimately translate into long-term economic stability and prosperity for the people,” he stated.

He said more deliberate efforts were needed to communicate the objectives and benefits of the administration’s policies to ordinary Nigerians.

“Undoubtedly, PBAT is working, but we need men and women who will translate the impact of his work into simple terms that the common man on the street can understand. Many people are not adequately explaining the benefits of these reforms, either in the short or long term.

“I believe it is high time all of us joined hands with President Tinubu to build our country,” Sambo added.

Sambo expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would perform strongly across the country in the 2027 general elections.
