The Yobe State chapter of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has presented a Merit Award to the prominent governorship aspirant, Alhaji Kashim Musa Tumsah (KMT), in recognition of his extensive philanthropic interventions across the state.
According to the statement signed by Abubakar Ahmed, Spokesman of Kashim Musa Tumsah’s Campaign Organization, and made available for the journalists in Damaturu, Tone state capital.
The award was presented on Monday during a ceremony at the headquarters of the Yobe First Movement (YFM), a political movement championing Tumsah’s 2027 gubernatorial ambition.
Presenting the award, the State Secretary General of the JNI, Malam Dauda Umar Kalli, stated that the Islamic body rarely honours individuals, Tumsah’s sustained support for communities, organisations, and individuals was deemed exceptionally worthy.
“This great son of Yobe State has done for all parts of the state what no single person in or out of government has personally done in its history.
“He is the kind of leader we pray for, one we believe will dedicate himself to lifting our standard of living and creating avenues for sustainable growth.
“This award is our way of saying thank you, encouraging him to continue, and praying for Allah’s guidance and protection,” He added.
Receiving the award on behalf of Kashim Musa Tumsah, the Director-General of Yobe First Movement, Comrade Lawan M. Ibrahim, thanked the JNI for the recognition.
Ibrahim traced Tumsah’s intervention efforts back over three decades, stating, “It was these very interventions that attracted our movement and compelled us to insist he join the 2027 governorship race.”
“We have mobilised extensively across Yobe because people have personally witnessed and benefited from his goodwill.
The YFM now has structures in all wards and local government areas, with thousands of registered members actively campaigning for the tangible development Yobe will gain under his leadership,” the DG stated.
He assured that the movement would continue to seek the JNI’s counsel to advance the project for the betterment of the state.
