Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria has trained youth from the Northern region and FCT on leadership, emphasising that leadership choices should prioritise long-term value over short-term personal gain.

Speaking at a media parley on Saturday during the 2026 Mosese Kadeer Officers’ Training School and Area Conference of Presidents in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, JCI National President Ambassador Akinbode Abitokun said the initiative cuts across all regions to foster a shared understanding of leadership and socio-economic challenges.

Abitokun urged young Nigerians to resist manipulation by politicians pursuing selfish interests, stressing the need to focus on building their future.

“Do not think of yourself alone. Think about your future and the community. Build the foundation today so future generations will not blame you,” he said.

Ambassador Hauwa Musa, Executive Vice President, North-East, called on the Federal Government to create more opportunities for women to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

On entrepreneurship, Chairperson of the Creative Young Entrepreneur Awards, Ambassador Fatimat O. Usman, urged stronger government support for startups through monitoring, accountability, power supply, and taxation reforms.
