GWR Showdown: T-Jos Goes for Gold in Hairdressing Marathon

Date:

Super Eagles’ Official Barber, Joshua Babatunde Aiyenuro, popularly known as T-Jos, is set to make another attempt at the Guinness World Records (GWR) title for the longest professional hairdressing marathon tomorrow, January 29, 2026. This will be his second attempt, following a previous effort last year where he successfully cut premium haircuts for 154 hours non-stop, although it wasn’t approved by GWR due to technical issues with record submissions.

According to Gambo Jagindi, Director Media and Publicity of the T-Jos Barbing marathon attempt, T-Jos will kick off his Guinness World Record attempt at 9 PM on January 29, 2026, at Paradise Cruise, Abacha Road, Mararaba, Karu Local Government. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, with free haircuts, non-stop music, and the chance to witness history in the making.

The public is invited to join in and be part of Nigeria’s proud moment, meeting T-Jos, the Super Eagles’ favorite barber. It’s a unique opportunity to show support for Nigerian talent and skill. T-Jos’s determination and passion for his craft have earned him recognition, including support from notable figures like Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Odion Ighalo, and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State.

His initiative extends beyond personal achievement, aiming to promote skill acquisition, youth empowerment, and African pride. Last year’s attempt showcased T-Jos’s endurance and technical skill, with dignitaries like the National Sports Commission Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, praising his resilience and ingenuity. With official backing from GWR and lessons learned from his previous attempt, Aiyenuro is poised to make history.
