The Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has promised to improve Water Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH) across 5,584 Schools in the state.
This was announced by the Executive Chairman of the board while responding to journalists during a Media dialogue on WASH services and facilities in schools and health care facilities in Kano and Jigawa, organized by Child Rights Information Bureau (CRIB) of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation in collaboration with UNICEF.
The SUBEB chairman who was represented by the secretary of the board, Hajiya Amina Umar lamented the gaps identified during the media tour to the schools and health care centers in the state, and promised to look into the gaps and address it for better development.
“We have learn a lot from the dialogue, and we realized the gaps and by the grace of God we will do all our best to improve,” the Secretary said.
Hajiya Amina Umar also promised that the Board will look at creation of WASH policy in the board as well as budget line for WASH services and facilities improvement.
