Child trafficking: NSCDC rescue 5 victims in Zamfara

Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) said it has arrested a suspected child trafficker in Gusau, and rescued five victims.
The person arrested was identified as Jerry Peter who hailed from Zuru of Kebbi State while enroute to Kaduna with five children as victims.
Parading the suspect at NSCDC headquarters, Commandant Sani Musa Mustapha who was represented by the CDPRO of the Command, ASCI Umar Mohammad Mansur, said the suspect was arrested at Lalan area of Gusau in a commercial vehicle and failed to give satisfactory explanation in the victims.
“Jerry Peter, a 31year old young man of Tadurga Dotse, Zuru LGA of Kebbi state was apprehended on 24th January, 2026 in Gusau with five (5) suspected kidnapped victims, namely, Simon Joseph 12years, Alheri Emmanuel 13years, Rachael Bulus 8years, Marvelous Ishiaku 8years and Emmanuel Ishiaku 13years.
“They were rescued enroute to Kaduna at Lalan area, Gusau at about 10pm.”
