In a bid to strengthen healthcare delivery, the Kaduna State Government has inducted 1,800 newly recruited primary health care workers, marking a significant step towards improving the state’s health sector.
The induction training, conducted across the three senatorial zones of Zaria, Kaduna Central, and Kafanchan, aimed to equip the new recruits with modern healthcare standards, including the use of improved medical tools and digital equipment.
Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, Professor Bello Yusuf Jamoh, disclosed that the programme was designed to familiarize the new recruits with the latest healthcare practices, enabling them to provide quality services to the community.
“The health workers would be posted to primary health care centres across the state to strengthen service delivery, particularly at the community level,” Professor Jamoh said, adding that the state government plans to engage additional health workers annually to address workforce shortages and improve overall health outcomes.
The executive secretary urged the newly inducted personnel to uphold professional ethics, remain committed to service, and support government efforts to improve residents’ quality of life.
Professor Jamoh also commended Governor Senator Uba Sani for prioritizing the health sector through the renovation and upgrading of primary healthcare centres, as well as the recent salary enhancement for health workers.
The induction has been welcomed by traditional leaders in the state, who praised the governor for approving the recruitment and described it as a significant boost to healthcare delivery.
