Estate Surveyors’ Role in Nigeria’s Economic Growth Underscored – Expert

The contributions of Estate Surveyors and Valuers to the growth of Nigeria’s economy cannot be overemphasised, head of Firm, Udoumoh Edeabasi Consults, ESV Udoumoh Edeabasi Sunday, FNIVS, has said.

Udoumoh stated that professional estate surveying and valuation services make significant contributions to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and called on property owners in both the public and private sectors to engage qualified practitioners for effective asset valuation and management.

He spoke while interacting with journalists during the 2026 Fellowship Induction Ceremony of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), where he was inducted as a Fellow and honorary fellowships were conferred on distinguished Nigerians.

Describing the event as a major milestone in his career, Udoumoh said the fellowship would further strengthen his commitment to the ethics and standards of the profession.

“Today marks a turning point in my career as I am fully inducted into this great body, NIESV. I am delighted to be part of this ceremony. This honour will propel me to always act in line with the ethics of this noble profession whose oath we have taken today. It is a great moment for me, my family, and the entire staff of my company. I am grateful to God Almighty and I appreciate the President of the Institution, my branch chairman, and my colleagues for this successful outing,” he said.

Udoumoh also urged Nigerians to recognise the importance of estate valuers in the property value chain, noting that many property owners are yet to fully understand the benefits of engaging professional estate surveyors.

“Property owners stand to gain more when they use the services of qualified estate surveyors and valuers, and the economy will be better for it. There is a need for more public enlightenment on the value we add,” he added.

Goodwill messages and best wishes were received from the management of Home Seven Apartment, individuals, and other professional associations, who commended Udoumoh’s hard work, discipline, and philanthropic gestures.
