The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), Nyesom Wike, yesterday confirmed that President Bola Tinubu intervened in the ongoing crisis between Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State and the state House of Assembly.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, Wike said this would be the last time that Tinubu would intervene in the ongoing political crisis between Fubara and the Rivers legislature.
According to Wike, this is the second and final time that the president would intervene in the crisis between the governor and the state assembly.
This comes as reports had claimed that Tinubu, Wike, and Fubara met on Sunday night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
It was reported that after the meeting, Fubara followed Wike to his residence to beg and make amends in a bid to resolve the crisis.
However, Wike said: “He is very kind to the people of the state, if there seems to be any problem between the legislature and the governor, as a father he really has to intervene.
“This is the second time Mr President is intervening and I believe by the grace of God that this will be the last time Mr President will intervene and I have told them to obey Mr President and i know that they would not hesitate.
“And I know that the governor would carry out his own part to make sure that this is the final time that Rivers people will hear this kind of discord.
