The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA), Mohammed Oyanki, has formally tendered his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Oyanki, who represents Doma North Constituency, made this known in a letter addressed to the chairman of the party in his Sabon Gari ward of Doma, dated February 9th , 2026.
According to him, the decision to resign his membership of the party was taken after careful consideration.
He noted that the resignation was with immediate effect and wished the party continued success in its future endeavors.
The lawmaker also expressed appreciation to the members and leadership of the party for their support while he was a member.
Peoples Daily reports that the Lawmaker had recently, during an audience with Governor Abdullahi Sule, announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress.
