The Caleb Danladi Foundation has announced plans to train 500 women in digital literacy as part of the activities celebrating the 2026 International Women’s Day.
Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Captain Danladi Bako, shared this in a statement commemorating the global celebration, reaffirming the organization’s dedication to empowering women and promoting equal opportunities for girls.
Captain Danladi Bako described this year’s theme, “Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls,” as timely and relevant, noting that it underscores the need for intentional actions to ensure fairness, justice, and equal opportunities for women and girls.
According to him, achieving gender equality requires governments, institutions, and communities to move beyond promises and take concrete steps to ensure that women and girls enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
As part of the Foundation’s initiatives, he said 500 women from selected communities will be trained in digital literacy to equip them with essential skills needed to participate in the digital economy and improve their livelihoods.
He explained that the training will include basic computer skills, internet use, digital communication, online entrepreneurship, and safe platform usage, with a special focus on women in underserved and rural communities.
Captain Danladi Bako noted that in today’s technology-driven world, digital literacy has become a crucial tool for economic empowerment and social inclusion.
