Breaking: Ex- Kogi state governor Ibrahim Idris dies in UK

A former Kogi state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has died on Sunday September 20, 2026, in the United Kingdom at the age of 77.

Alhaji Ibrahim Idris governed Kogi State for nearly nine years, serving from May 29, 2003, until January 2012. He remains one of the longest-serving civilian governors of the state.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has condoled the family of the former governor, describing him as a man who had made meaningful contributions in politics and business.
