The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to strengthening national security in Nigeria.

Audi gave the assurance while hosting the Executive Council of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja.

The 11-member delegation, led by its President, Mike Ejiofor, paid a courtesy visit to congratulate the Commandant General on his recent reappointment. The team also formally invited him to serve as the Special Guest at the association’s forthcoming Annual Lecture.

Speaking during the visit, Audi commended the association for its initiative focusing on election-related security, describing the theme of the planned lecture as timely, particularly as the country continues to strengthen its democratic processes.

The NSCDC boss reiterated the Corps’ readiness to collaborate with critical stakeholders to enhance the protection of lives and property, as well as safeguard critical national assets across the country.

Earlier, Ejiofor said the visit was also aimed at deepening collaboration between the NISS alumni body and the NSCDC. He acknowledged the vital role played by the Corps in election security and in maintaining national stability.

The statement was issued by the National Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Babawale Afolabi, an Assistant Commandant of Corps.
