From Edwin olofu, Kano
Kano state deputy governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has disclosed his willingness to contest the state governorship seat by 2015, noting that he is still consulting on the way forward.
Ganduje who was speaking at an interactive session with Correspondents’ chapel members recently said “with the merger that gave birth to the formation of APC in Kano, every decision must to be taken in line with peculiar interest of the parties within the merger.
‘’If I told you that I’m contesting, it is not news, but if say I’m not contesting it is a news. So I’m now informing you that APC is a merger party and some people within the merger can also contest but from our Kwankwasiyya ideology, I am interested but still consulting”.
Ganduje stressed that “Kwankwasiyya having a clear dominance, the issue of contest must be treated with circumspection,” adding that “I have already made some headways in consulting stakeholders in the party for a credible decision to be taken”.
The Deputy Governor assured that “As soon I make up my mind to make a formal declaration of my contest, everyone will get to know about it. I am only soliciting the cooperation of the stakeholders in the APC to work assiduously towards realizing the goals of the merger”.
