Dankwambo pledges conducive environment for civil servants

Gombe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has said his primary responsibility is to provide peaceful and conducive environment for the people to move the state forward.

The governor, spoke through his deputy Mr. Thaanda Jason Rubainu, in Gombe at the occasion of the state productivity and merit award ceremony held at the School of Nursing and Midwifery Gombe.

Governor Dankwambo also said that the aim of the merit award was to honour those that distinguished themselves credibly in the performance of their duties in the public service and private sector in the state.

According to him, no less than 40 civil servants bagged the merit award of excellence due to their outstanding performance which he said resulted from hard work, dedication and commitment to advancement of the civil service in the state.

The governor also emphasized that the government had earlier signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), with the Prestigious Centre for Management Development (CMD) for regular training of civil servants across the state.

He however congratulated the recipients for their deserved awards and urged them to consider the gesture as a challenge so as to contribute positively to the development of the state, noting that those who are yet to receive the award should put in their best so as to be considered next time by government.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Civil Service in Gombe state, Malam Aliyu Kamara stressed government commitment and encouraged the civil servants to work harder in order to develop the state.

He said government would not relent in looking into the issue that concerns the welfare of workers, saying it would continue to work closely to its workers so as to benefit from the dividend of democracy.
