Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court, Abuja, Friday, granted bail to Anambra-born cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Mr. Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord.

The court granted Blord bail on self-recognisance after 17 days in remand in Kuje correctional center.

At resumed proceeding, Counsel to VDM, informed the court of his intention to withdraw the counter affidavit opposing the bail application.

A controversial social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) dragged Blord to court on the charges bordering on impersonation and forgery charges.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Blord is the founder of the Blord Group, with ventures in fintech, real estate, gadgets, and digital payments such as Billpoint Technology.

According to VDM,
Blord allegedly used his (VDM) image on billboards and social media as a fake brand ambassador, claiming a N500 million deal.

He also allegedly forged a flight ticket in VDM’s name for an Onitsha event and promoted his “Billpoint” app without consent.

Granting his bail, Justice Ajumogobia held that he must surrender his international passport and may not travel outside Nigeria without court permission.

The court also held that he will produce two sureties with good public standing, adding that he shouldn’t talk to much about the matter in public.

Speaking shortly after the proceeding, one of the VDM’ lawyers, it is a known fact that Blord offended VDM, however, the parties are seeking for ways to settle out of court amicably.
