Peter Obi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has held a closed-door meeting with chairpersons of the South-East caucus of the party in Enugu.
The meeting, according to Martins Ugwu, head of the ADC media team in Enugu, signals a growing regional alignment aimed at strengthening the party’s structures across the South-East.
Ugwu noted that the engagement marked Obi’s first formal interaction with the newly elected zonal leadership of the party. Discussions reportedly centered on Obi’s intention to contest in the forthcoming ADC presidential primary, as well as efforts to consolidate party unity.
Key areas of focus included reinforcing internal party democracy, aligning leadership priorities, and deepening grassroots mobilization across the region.
Those in attendance included Enugu’s chairman-elect, Augustine Akubue, along with ADC chairpersons from Imo State, Abia State, Anambra State, and Ebonyi State.
