A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Laja Adeoye, has downplayed the recent endorsement of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat by leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as an internal affair of the party.
Reacting in a statement on Tuesday, Adeoye said the development reflects ongoing political realignments within the APC, following the backing earlier given by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other party stakeholders.
He, however, urged political actors to shift attention from endorsements to governance, stressing that the real concern of Lagos residents lies in effective service delivery and improved living conditions.
According to him, critical challenges such as traffic congestion, flooding, housing shortages, healthcare gaps and rising cost of living require urgent and practical solutions rather than political maneuvering.
The PDP chieftain further called for a governance approach that is more inclusive and responsive to the needs of citizens, noting that Lagosians expect measurable progress in infrastructure and social services.
Adeoye maintained that political contest ahead of the 2027 election should be anchored on clear ideas, actionable programmes and policies capable of driving sustainable development in the state.
