By Jude Opara
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has named its former National Chairman, Tanimu Turaki as the Chairman of the Caretaker National Working Committee (NWC).
Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Sen. Adolphus Wabara who was nominated as the proterm Chairman of the 103 NEC meeting of the PDP, said the action was necessitated by the ruling of the Supreme Court which last week nullifies the Ibadan National Convention of the party where the Turaki led NWC was elected, as well as upholding the suspension of the leadership of the party loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
According to Wabara, the meeting was convened by 2/3 of the NEC members in line with the Constitution of the party, as amended in 2017.
Other members of the 13-man committee include: Taofeek Arapaja, who was appointed National Secretary, as well as Daniel Ambrose, Hamza Abuya, Richard Ihediwa, Isah Abubakar, Theophilus Dakashan, Ini Ememobong and Aribisala Adewale Idowu.
