The immediate past National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (North-East), Mustafa Salihu, has formally declared his interest in contesting the Adamawa State governorship election.
Salihu made the declaration on Tuesday in Yola, where he unveiled his nomination and expression of interest forms before a crowd of supporters and also inaugurated his campaign office.
Addressing the gathering, he called for unity among party members, urging them to remain loyal and focused as he seeks the party’s ticket, stressing that internal cohesion would be key to electoral success.
At the event, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, said the performance of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri required a competent successor, adding that Salihu fits that description.
Other prominent attendees included Senator Binta Masi Garba, former House of Representatives member Captain Yusuf Buba, and several serving members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
