Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has reacted to the latest political developments in Rivers State, expressing support for the actions of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, amid the ongoing rift with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Adeyanju made the remarks in a Facebook post on Monday following the reported disqualification of House of Assembly aspirants believed to be loyal to Governor Fubara by the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Rivers State.
The disqualification followed the party’s screening exercise conducted on Saturday, with reports indicating that only aspirants aligned with Wike were cleared by the screening committee.
Reacting to the outcome, Adeyanju described Fubara as politically weak, insisting that such traits have no place in Nigeria’s political environment.
“I love what Wike is doing to Fubara. Weak men have no business in politics in this part of the world,” he wrote.
The development is the latest twist in the prolonged political crisis between supporters of Wike and Governor Fubara in Rivers State.
