The New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), has extended the sale of its nomination forms for the 2027 general elections by one week.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Lagos by its Secretary-General, Ogini Olaposi.

According to Olaposi, the extension followed a directive from the party’s Board of Trustees to the National Working Committee, with the approval of the party’s founder, Boniface Aniebonam.

He explained that the decision became necessary due to delays by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), in uploading the logo of the party’s recognised leadership.

“The extension is to give room for the resolution of the delay by INEC in uploading the logo of the authentic leadership of the party,” he said.

Olaposi stated that the new deadline for the collection and submission of nomination forms is now May 17.

He also announced the prices of the various nomination forms, with presidential aspirants expected to pay N5 million, governorship aspirants N2.5 million, senatorial aspirants N1.5 million, House of Representatives aspirants N1 million, while House of Assembly forms will cost N500,000.

The party official added that women and physically challenged aspirants would obtain the forms free of charge.

“Our forms are free for all women and physically challenged persons,” he stated.

He further disclosed that elected party officials seeking re-election would be granted automatic tickets after purchasing the nomination forms.

Olaposi, however, assured party members that the screening of aspirants would proceed as earlier scheduled and urged stakeholders to remain calm while efforts were being made to resolve the issue with INEC.
