The Chairman of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) in Zamfara State, Alhaji Surajo Garba Mai Katako, has called on aggrieved aspirants from other political parties to join the NDC, describing the party as a “home of justice” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mai Katako made this appeal while formally declaring the party’s support for Senator Kabir Garba Marafa for the 2027 governorship race, citing his fearless leadership and track record in the Senate as the primary qualifications for the role.
In a strategic move to broaden the party’s base, the NDC Chairman issued an open invitation to politicians who may lose out in their current parties’ primaries due to manipulation or lack of internal democracy.
“Whoever did not get justice, we invite every such candidate to join our party, the NDC; we will treat you fairly,” Mai Katako stated.
He urged aspirants not to let their investments—including time, resources, and effort—be wasted on “rigged primaries,” promising that the NDC would protect their mandates as sacred.
Mai Katako expressed unwavering confidence that the NDC would secure victory for Senator Marafa, emphasizing that the campaign would be built on merit and popular support rather than violence.
The Chairman dismissed the possibility of electoral manipulation, asserting that the party has prepared sufficiently for the upcoming polls.
“I have full confidence and burning zeal that under my Chairmanship, we will deliver, and by the grace of Allah, Senator Kabir Garba Marafa will become Governor of Zamfara State,” he declared.
He adds:“We have prepared enough, and this time is our turn.”
