The Kaduna State Government has said that the administration of Governor Uba Sani has executed several infrastructure and social development projects across Jema’a Local Government Area within the last three years.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Mock Kure, disclosed this while highlighting completed and ongoing projects in the areas of roads, healthcare, water supply, education, agriculture, security, and energy.

Kure said one of the major projects completed by the administration is the 24-kilometre Roundabout–Ungwan Rimi road, which had reportedly been abandoned for years and became impassable during the rainy season.

According to him, the road has now been completed and upgraded with solar-powered streetlights, leading to improved movement and increased commercial activities along the corridor.

He also revealed that the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan was renovated, upgraded, and equipped before being handed over to the Federal Government as a Federal Medical Centre.

Kure noted that the conversion of the facility is expected to attract federal funding and specialist medical personnel, thereby reducing the need for residents to seek advanced healthcare services in Keffi, Shika, or Jos.

On water supply, he said the state government is rehabilitating the water treatment plant and distribution network in Kafanchan and surrounding communities.

He explained that piped water reticulation works, including excavation, pipe laying, and household connections, are currently ongoing to restore regular water supply to residents.

The aide further disclosed that work is ongoing on a 22-kilometre road linking Gada Biyu in Jema’a Local Government Area to Gwantu in Sanga Local Government Area.
He said the road project is expected to ease transportation and improve access to markets for farmers and traders.

Kure also cited the ongoing reconstruction of the Kussom-Kwagiri-Jagindi-Wasa road, a project initiated during the administration of the late former Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa.

According to him, work has resumed on the abandoned rural road project, which traverses farming communities and will enhance connectivity between Jema’a and Sanga local government areas upon completion.

In the education sector, Kure said the government established new Junior Secondary Schools in Pasakori and Fadan Kagoma, while a contract has been awarded for another school project in Gerti (Ngachem) Community in Kaninkon Ward.

He added that renovation works have been completed at LGEA Ungwan Fari, UBE Dangoma, LGEA Aduwan, and LGEA Paki schools, while repairs and furniture supply are ongoing in other schools, including Ungwan Mailafiya 2, Kogom Dutse, and Jagindi Gari.

He explained that the interventions were aimed at improving access to quality education in rural communities.

Speaking on healthcare, Kure said all 12 wards in Jema’a now have upgraded Primary Healthcare Centres operating at Tier Two standards.

He stated that the centres have been equipped to provide improved medical services, while free drugs are regularly supplied to support vulnerable residents.

On agriculture, Kure said the Kaduna State Government facilitated the release of over N3 billion in intervention funds for ginger farmers affected by blight disease.

He added that the Bank of Agriculture, in collaboration with the state government, recently distributed ginger seedlings to farmers in Jema’a, while fertilizers and farming equipment are also being provided to support commercial agriculture.

The governor’s aide further stated that small-scale business owners in the area are benefiting from the “A Kori Talauci” initiative, a government grant programme designed to support micro and small enterprises.

According to him, security has also improved across the 12 electoral wards in Jema’a, allowing residents to return to farming and commercial activities.

Kure also highlighted the ongoing 23-kilometre Kafanchan–Madakiya–Madauchi road project, which includes access to the Matsirga Waterfalls in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

He said the project is expected to boost tourism and create economic opportunities for residents.

In addition, he disclosed that transformers and solar streetlights have been installed in several communities across Jema’a to improve electricity supply and support economic and educational activities.

Kure maintained that the projects reflected Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to delivering people-oriented development across Kaduna State.
